When we first saw the old Vicarage in 1982, we knew at once that its wonderful location and friendly character potentially made it a real place of tranquility and security for the Elderly. We opened our doors as a Care Home in 1984, and over the past twenty years have extended the original buildings sympathetically, and now have accommodation for 49 male and female residents in need of nursing care.

The original part of The Grange was the Vicarage of St Denys Church, originating from the 12th Century. Over the years the Vicarage has provided occupancy for many illustrious characters, including Dr Christopher Wordsworth (William’s nephew).
