A Typical Day

A helping handGetting up. Residents choose their own preferred time and mode of waking and going to bed each day, with the Resident’s day typically starting at around 7.45am. Residents are enabled to maintain self-help skills for as long as possible, with the full range of personal care services appropriate to the resident’s agreed needs on hand at all times. This includes assistance with washing, bathing, dressing, and toilet needs.

 

Breakfast is served between 7.30am and 10am. A wide range of healthy options are always available - with traditional English breakfast served on request at weekends. Some Residents prefer having their meals in the dining room, others choose to have room service.

Morning CoffeeMorning Coffee with friends and catching up with the day’s news is likely to be part of the morning’s activities. The lounge assistant is on hand to help with newspapers and correspondence. The lounges and dining room look out over the landscaped gardens. There are many wheelchair-access paths throughout the Garden. The daily domestic room service ensures that all rooms are cleaned, dusted and vacuumed.

 

 

Attractive dining rom Lunch takes place between 12.15pm and 2.00pm. All meals are freshly cooked on the premises, with varied menus and flexible catering for individual needs. Appointments to see the cook can be arranged.

 

 

 

Activities involving intellectual or physical flexing are organised on a regular basis throughout the week, and are always very popular with the Residents. Games, Movement to Music, Fitness & Motivation, Singalongs and Concerts are all regularly on the agenda. Mid afternoon is also a good time to take a nap, or enjoy a cup of tea with visiting friends and relatives. Summer afternoons can be spent in the garden, soaking up a bit of sunshine and enjoying a long cool drink!

 

Enjoying the sunshineAfternoon Tea is served between 5pm and 6pm, with another hot drink at seven. Drinks are also served throughout the day and the kitchen is open day and night for snacks or drinks, should anyone suddenly be feeling peckish at three in the morning. Visitors are welcome at any time, and relatives may pop in to say hello on their way home from work.

 

 

 

Winding down in the evening

 

Winding down into the evening hours might involve a bit of watching TV together, or reading, or just chatting with friends and relatives. It’s generally a very restful time of the day.
